Peoples reactions to the fear games?

how did people react to to fear trilogy. did people become paranoid or something. some games can have a certain effect on people and i would like to know if this game series changed the way people acted or anything like that. if you could back up your answers that would be a great help so i know if people are lying or not thanks.
